We provide short-term, trauma-informed support to all people experiencing, or who have recently experienced, intimate partner violence, regardless of culture, background, gender or identity.

Bunmabunmarra Services Australia Ltd is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation. While we are an Aboriginal-led service, the Leaving Violence Program supports all people experiencing intimate partner violence. We are committed to providing culturally safe, inclusive and trauma-informed support to every person who accesses the program, while also recognising the importance of Aboriginal-led responses for Aboriginal people, families and communities.

Our work is grounded in cultural safety, healing, practical support and strong community connection.

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced and highly organised Case Manager to join our team based in Dubbo.

About the Role

This role provides culturally safe, trauma-informed case management, including risk assessment, safety planning, outreach support, advocacy, referrals, brokerage support and service navigation.

The role requires regular outreach and regional travel across Western NSW, including Bourke, Brewarrina, Walgett, Lake Cargelligo and surrounding areas. Travel will occur at a minimum of once per month and may include long-distance driving, overnight stays and working independently while away from the Dubbo office.

Travel is an essential requirement of this position. Applicants must be able and willing to travel by themselves across regional areas. If you are unable to meet this requirement, please do not apply.

The successful applicant will need to work closely with their Manager, plan travel safely, manage their workload effectively and demonstrate strong time management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

The role will include:

  • Intake, risk assessments and safety planning

  • Short-term case management and quick response

  • Supporting clients with housing, legal, health, counselling, AOD, Centrelink and community service referrals

  • Providing practical support through Leaving Violence Program brokerage

  • Outreach, home visits and regional service delivery where safe and appropriate

  • Accurate case notes, data entry and LVP reporting requirements

  • Working collaboratively with Police, Legal Aid, Housing, Health, DFV services, Aboriginal organisations and community services

  • Maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality and safe work practices

  • Planning and undertaking regional travel in line with organisational requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who is grounded, organised and committed to supporting individuals and families experiencing intimate partner violence.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in case management, DFV, homelessness, justice, family support or community services

  • Strong understanding of intimate partner violence, coercive control, trauma-informed practice and safety planning

  • Ability to assess risk and respond appropriately in crisis situations

  • Strong communication, documentation and case note skills

  • Ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal communities and diverse client groups

  • Knowledge of Western NSW service systems or ability to build strong local service relationships

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • Willingness and ability to travel across regional areas, including travelling alone

  • Current or willing to obtain National Police Check and Working With Children Check

  • Must live in Dubbo or be willing to relocate. This is not a hybrid role.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation or culturally safe service

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or a related field

  • Experience delivering outreach in regional or remote communities

  • Lived experience, where safe and appropriate to disclose

What We Offer

  • Employment until 30 June 2027, subject to program funding

  • SCHADS Level 5–6, depending on experience and qualifications

  • Salary packaging benefits available through our PBI/charity status
